My family lives on a dangerous country road. People go about 75 down it. I bet almost every family on my road that has pets has lost AT LEAST one to the road. The other day I almost lost my neice to it.
Man...I'm glad I live in an apartment...we're not allowed to let the cats out...but most people go 50 through the parking lot, and it's not very big, so it's amazing no one has crashed yet...it's supposed to be 5 mph...people are nuts and don't pay attention when they're driving. It's rare to find a truly good driver. Luckily my mom's one tho. She drove bus for years and taught me everything I know about driving. Everything they said at driver's training, I already knew.
Usually, down my road, adults will go from 45 to 60 (the speed limit is 55, so that's ok), but fresh drivers (usually 15-17 years old) and young adult drivers will range from 60 to 85 (the fastest I've EVER driven was 67). So far I've lost about 5-6 dogs and 2 known cats to the road. We have only had two dogs and one cat die from natural causes, one cat died after being hit in the back by a ladder, and Little tiger was put down to ease his pain from a colon puncture and a cracked hip (which no onw knows the cause of). I think that concludes the story of my road.
Ow...poor kitty. The only pets I've ever had die were my fish (they got sick with some kind of fish flu that ate at their fins and ended up killing all of them off. We killed off 2 algae eaters in the process, and they're supposed to be virtually impossible to kill...the weirdest thing was neither of them were affected by the fish flu...but my favorite was the first to die. u.u), hamsters (they were cheap dwarf hamsters that died a total of a year after we got them...one 5 months, the other 7, but we had them at different times), and mice. The mice all died (the ones that were left, anyway) on thanksgiving morning...or were dead when I got up, however you want to say it, except for one, that was dead by the time we got back from my grandma's house. That was really weird. We still don't know why they died. The girls died of dehydration because the water bottle leaked, one died because of an accidental cat incident, on because it was attacked by its brothers and it's back got broken, as well as the fact that he was blind, my original died of old age, and then the rest...who knows? It was the weirdest thing to have them all die at once, without reason. And right about that time I'd been getting really sick too... O_O sorry for my rambling... ^_^;;
I wanna kitty... *cry*
