So I've been a bit lazy...

Okay, so...I haven't updated my journal on here in forever, so I figured it was maybe about time to do that.
First off...Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone! I hope you're all enjoying the season so far and keeping warm if you live somewhere that's cold right now, like me. We've only gotten one real snowstorm so far this winter and it wasn't very big...though it did make the roads icy and I watched a lady hop her truck over a curb. She was okay, and it turned out she'd just gotten the vehicle as a Christmas present. Not a good idea to drive an unfamiliar vehicle when it's icy! But Thanksgiving was a bit hectic with having two different family get togethers that were each an hour and a half away from home. They were on two different days though and were both a lot of fun, so I won't complain! Black Friday was between the two of them and my boyfriend and I did a little Christmas shopping at 5:30 am. It turned out to be a good time to go because all of the really crazy shoppers had gone home to sleep! lol And the second rush didn't come out till around 10 or 11. I got my bf a really cool present for Christmas on one of the black friday sales, and he's buying me a remote starter for my car this afternoon once I get home from work. ^-^ He's so sweet! We haven't figured out Christmas with our families though, cuz he's on-call for the holiday. He wasn't originally, but someone quit and he got stuck with it somehow, even though he has the week off. Doesn't make much sense to put someone on call during their vacation! So we'll see how it goes.
In some other news, my mom and I will be selling at a craft fair in a little more than a week. I'll be selling all of the stuff I have made right now, and she'll be selling her jewelry, candles, and some other cute little goodies she put together just for the show. My friend will be joining us as well with a little bit of stuff that she's got, so it'll be fun! I hope we all do well! I have a LOT to do before then though! I've got four commissions I need to make that I got at Youmacon that I've been slowed down on because of work and a little of the winter blues, I have a commission for my bf's coworker (though I'm still waiting on a head measurement so I can make it the right size), I have a couple possible commissions from people at work, and I have some pillows I need to crochet for my boyfriend's mom. So much to do! I also have some artwork to do for Almacon, as I said I'd do a few pics of their mascot for them.
And speaking of cons...I started selling acrylic charms! I got two designs printed initially, and I made enough at Youmacon to get all 6 of my other designs printed! I hope they sell well at Almacon so I can get a few more designs done and maybe finally start selling t-shirts! I guess we'll see!

Okay, so I decided to start selling homemade lipgloss to try and raise money to buy my mom some dentures! I'm hoping to raise enough money to be able to get them for her for Christmas, but she needs them whether or not they're on time, so...
They're $2 each! ^-^

So here are current availabilities:
"Gentle Strawberry" - has a very, very light strawberry flavor and will give a gentle pink tint to your lips, also has shea butter in it
"Mint Chocolate" - has a peppermint flavor and chocolate color which gives a VERY light chocolate tint. The mint makes it tingly like a lip plumper (though I don't know whether or not it works as one) and it has shea butter in it
"Wild Watermelon" - has a gentle watermelon flavor and light pink color that gives your lips a very slight tint with plenty of shimmer. Smells really watermelon-y when you put it on
"Spazzy Raspberry" - has a gentle raspberry flavor and gives a slight magenta tint with shimmer
Pink, Unflavored - these are very basic, they have no flavor and leave no tint on your lips but are great over lipstick or plain. Also have shea butter in them
If you could spread the word, I'd really appreciate it!
Shipping for these will be $2 for up to 5 glosses, $4 for 6-10 glosses, $6 for 11-15 glosses, etc. I really want to keep these affordable while still making enough money to help my mom out.

Good News: Better Job!

Hello everyone!! On Friday I got some super awesome news that I just HAD to share with everyone!! First, for those who don't know, I have been working two jobs since mid-May. I have been working at Wendy's for more than a year and was offered a part time job at FPHorak (a printing company) in May with the idea that I'd go full time at the end of summer/beginning of fall. Well on Friday, although I wasn't offered full time at FPHorak, I was offered 30 hours a week instead of 20, which means I got to put in my two weeks at Wendy's!! This will give me so much more free time and make life easier to juggle. I won't be having to figure out weird time schedules between jobs and when I may or may not have time for homework and art. That will free up roughly 3 hours (or more, if you include travel time to each job) each day! I'm so happy and I can't wait till I'm done with my last two weeks at Wendy's.
Aside from that, classes started about 3 weeks ago and that's all hectic, but I'm getting things settled in for the semester. I still have another book that I need to buy for a class during the second half of the semester (one of my classes was dropped, so I picked up another one), but it's gonna be REALLY expensive. It's a $200 book, and the cheapest I can find it anywhere is still around $150. I'm hoping that by waiting will closer to the beginning of class that I'll be able to get it cheaper somewhere.
I also may have to get a new car soon. Which is a bummer because I can't really afford it. I haven't been able to get my car in to my mechanic yet (it just started doing weird things) but I think the transmission may be dying...which would be really expensive to fix. Or it could be the clutch, I dunno. It has something to do with shifting gears. About a week ago it wouldn't shift into reverse, and the other day it didn't want to shift into 3rd as I was going down the road. I dunno that much about cars, so I'm not exactly the best person to be trying to figure out what's wrong, but shifting has something to do with transmission, and Dodges tend to have issues with transmissions. >.> But I'm gonna see if a transmission flush will at least temporarily fix the issue and then I'll prolly be looking for a new car. I just hope it can get me through the winter cuz I really can't afford a new car until I at least get taxes back...and even that's a maybe cuz I don't know how much I'll be getting back or if there'll be a bonus for being in school like I got last year. I hope so...
Don't really have much to say beyond that though. Life keeps on moving, even when small things happen, whether good or bad. I just keep rolling with things and I'm really happy that some of the more important things in my life are going the way I want them to.

Shutoncon 2012 AA is a go!!!

Alright, I have some super awesome news!! I got in to Artist Alley at Shutocon 2012!! For those who are interested, it is in Lansing, MI, March 16th-18th at the Lansing Center. If you go to their website and click on the artist tab at the left, you can download a copy of the hall layout. I'm going to be in space X, for those who want to come say hi. ^-^ I'm gonna have a TON of new stuff, so you can look forward to it. If you'd like to get more frequent updates, check out my facebook page: here. I still need 3 more people to like it so I can get an official username for it, so stop by and like me!! lol
In other news, my bf and I started letting the kitties into the bedroom at night. We always kept them out because they'd crawl all over us and get into things at night. They're doing okay so far (last night was night #2), but I'm REALLY tired. Every time I wake up I have a certain little kitten standing on my stomach, purring in my ear. Last night she started licking my face and biting at my arm, so I threw her off the bed. She's adorable, but not when I'm trying to sleep. >.>
Aside from that, I can't really think of anything else to say. My bf and I most likely aren't going to Youmacon because we won't be able to afford it, but we'll definitely be at Shutocon and Jafax next year. I'm so excited to be doing another AA. ^-^ Like really, you have no idea. I enjoy it a lot.

In other news, my bf and I started letting the kitties into the bedroom at night. We always kept them out because they'd crawl all over us and get into things at night. They're doing okay so far (last night was night #2), but I'm REALLY tired. Every time I wake up I have a certain little kitten standing on my stomach, purring in my ear.
